Daily Objective:
Students will be able to describe how a machine makes work "easier," and will be able to solve problems involving the mechanical advantage of machines.
Bellwork:
A 435 N diver stands at rest at the end of a diving board as shown in the diagram above. The diving board is bolted to the metal stand on the left and is resting on top of the metal stand in the middle. Determine the force provided by each stand to keep the board at rest. (Assume the board is perfectly straight and has no mass)
