Daily Objective:

Students will be able to describe how a machine makes work "easier," and will be able to predict the amount of work done when using a machine.

Bellwork:

Two objects are placed on one side of the fulcrum of a 1st class lever.  The first object has a mass of 2.15 kg and is placed 0.35 m from the fulcrum.  The second object has a mass of 1.25 kg and is placed 0.65 m from the fulcrum.  If the mass of the lever is negligible, what force would would have to be exerted at a distance of 0.45 m on the opposite side of the lever to keep the lever at equilibrium?
