Daily Objective:
Students will describe the path of objects in simple harmonic motion and predict the velocity, acceleration, and force on an object at different points in that motion.
Bellwork:
A spring (k = 85 N/m) is set horizontally on a table and is compressed 0.35 m to the left. A 0.255 kg mass is attached to the end and the spring is let go. If there is a constant frictional force of 0.52 N, what acceleration will the mass experience when the spring has moved 0.11 m toward its equilibrium position (assume the mass was just released and this is the first cycle of motion it has experienced).
