Tuesday - January 26th, 2021 (50/50 Virtual Block)
Daily Objective:
Students will be able to predict the changes in energy an object experiences as it moves and use the law of conservation of energy to solve problems.
Bellwork:
A bowling ball of mass 6.5 kg is dropped from a height of 4.75 m above the ground. At the same time, a baseball of mass 0.125 kg is dropped from the same height. What is the speed of the bowling ball when it hits the ground? What is the speed of the baseball?
What does this show us about the mass of an object, the height from which it is dropped, and the speed with which it will hit? Use the law of conservation of energy (in math equation form) to prove your answer.
